day one
Launceston to Wukalina and Krakani Lumi
Arrive at the Elders Centre on St John Street in Launceston at 8am.
Meet Elders, guides and other guests over a morning cuppa and freshly baked scones.
Enjoy the scenic drive, by minibus, to the North East, while learning some Palawa and post-invasion history.
The cultural walk begins when you arrive at Wukalina (Mt William National Park).
After reaching the 216-metre-high summit of Wukalina it’s time to hike towards the coast. You will have a chance to try bush tucker on the way.
Arrive at Krakani Lumi – resting place – designed and built exclusively for Wukalina Walk.
That evening we will gift you a Smoking Ceremony so it cleanses the people and the area of bad spirits and promote protection and wellbeing of everyone – visitors in particular.

day two
Time on the coast
After a leisurely breakfast you’ll be guided though a living cultural landscape. Learn about this land and sea Country.
Lunch will be served back at Krakani Lumi.
The afternoon is a time to take part in and learning about some of our cultural activities.
Dinner includes traditional foods such as mutton bird and wallaby.
Guests may encounter native wildlife such as prupilathina (wombat), payathanima (wallaby), Forester kangaroos and sea eagles.

day three
Krakani Lumi to Larapuna
Today is your longest day of walking with a guided hike south to Larapuna (Bay of Fires).
Follow the waterline of the beaches and walk over rocky headlands. The hike, mostly on sand, is easily broken up by stories, interpretations and more opportunities to sample bush tucker.
Arrive at Larapuna. (Our community has a 40-year lease on Eddystone Point Lighthouse Precinct. We are continuing to fight for land rights.)
Wildlife such as prupilathina and payathanima are often grazing on the lawns around your lightkeeper cottage accommodation.

day four
Larapuna to Launceston
Early risers can see daybreak, and possibly sunrise, from the top of Eddystone Point lighthouse.
Return to the nearby lighthouse keepers cottage for breakfast together.
A guided headland tour includes a beach that was once quarried for granite and more time in the lighthouse.
Participate in cultural activities with guides and possibly an Elder.
Lunch is served prior to the drive back to Launceston.
The minibus will return you to the Elders in Launceston, via Derby, at approximately 4:30pm.
